My Journey to Thailand - Ban Ta-ud School & National Thai Language Day

Today, it's a National Thai Language Day. Me and my friends already bought Thai traditional dress. Do we look great in Thai dress? (By the way, Indonesian Batik and Thai fabric are looking almost the same.) It is such a beautiful experience. This is my first time ever to experiencing National Thai Language day. Especially, I am working as an English teacher in this school. Every student says, "Teacher, you look really good (in Thai dress)!" in Thai would be, "Koon Kru, suay mak mak!"

I love how every student here showing love for us. They express their emotions really well. I get so many love letters and affection from the students. I am going to miss everyone here in this school because I am going to go back again to Bangkok (probably) in 2 weeks. I am going to miss my mother here and her 2 amazing daughters. I am going to miss my junior high school and high school students. You guys are amazing and always be in my heart forever. I love you guys!

My Journey to Thailand - Temple in Sisaket Province

Taken with Samsung Galaxy J7

Last week, on Sunday... Me, my friends, one of my student, and my host family went to a temple in Sisaket. It was my first time ever and the place was wonderful. The building is so big. This temple consist of museum and place for pray to Buddha or God. This temple is not too tall comparing to other temple in other bigger cities. It has only 4 floors. The view from 4th floor is going to amazed you. Green and peaceful place. You can come to this temple if you visit Sisaket province and ask to local people about it. They surely will help you to reach the destination.

I got my fortune prediction and it was a nice one! You need to try to see your own fortune. If you are not believing in any kind of fortune teller or prediction like me, well just do it for fun and make the fortune prediction to be your inspiration and try to be a better person in your life. Because YOLO.

This temple is quite clean but the public bathroom / toilet is not that clean. It was so dusty and there was no clean water. Make sure you bring tissue or wet tissue with you
, just in case you want to pee. If you are a girl and still in your period please make sure you clean it. Do not ever place a blood mark in any kind of temple here.

.

There are several tourist attractions here in Sisaket. Not as many as other cities but yet, Sisaket is one of my favorite province in Thailand. The other recommended destination is Sisaket Aquarium. You can also visit downtown in Khukhan district. I live in Ta-Ud area in Sisaket, it is a small area. Not many things happen here in my neighborhood. So me and my host family are often going to Khukhan or other areas in Sisaket province.

I feel bad that I forget the name of this temple. But if you visit here, just make sure you say "I want to go to a temple and museum in Sisaket." and the locals would automatically know it (or probably you show my captured photos to them). There is a temple near my home but it's just a small one and nothing really interesting with it. I mean, it doesn't bad either but it's just a holy place for people who want to pray / not a tourist attraction / not a tourist destination. No need to pay if you want to visit local temples here. They will welcome all people who want to visit.

Now, do you want to try to visit this province?

My Journey to Thailand - Touch Down in Bangkok University

Taken with Samsung Galaxy J7

Hello everyone! Long time no see. I am back with a new story. I hope all of you have a nice long holiday. I am already in Thailand and by writing this, today is actually my 16th day (I've been staying in Thailand for at least 2 weeks). I had several classes in Bangkok University before I started my project teaching English in rural area. Basically, all of us were learning about basic thai language, how to adapt with local environment, etc.

I was surprised at the first time, schools and universities here are so big. I think, the government does an amazing job to let schools and universities get large spaces. Bangkok University building is also amazing. The architecture is so modern and the facilities are great. The students are so chic (especially those art students tho). I saw Bangkok University cheerleading practice and routine, bands, students from acting class, and the university has its own cinema for students to have their own movie premiere. I wish that my university is also like that.

Right now, I am not currently staying in Bangkok. I live or stay in Sisaket province for the whole month. I already live in with my new family here (host family). She is really nice and she has 2 beautiful daughters. I really enjoy my stay in Thailand. I live with 2 other friends as well, my friend Dara my bestfriend and one new friend from China named Elaine.

In Thailand, People are so great and pretty much helpful, all thai foods are awesome, and my place to sleep is kinda proper (way better than I thought before). Everything here is so cheap comparing to my home country, Indonesia. Foods here around my place are mostly less than USD $1. I can save my money to buy something else when I already finished my project and come back to Bangkok.

Maybe some of you might ask,... how come did I decide to come here to teaching english? Well, I joined AIESEC program called Global Citizen and I applied to AIESEC Thailand program called Sawasdee Project to help less fortunate kids to learn English and exchange culture. I already write about it in my previous post, you can click here to see! Actually, I applied under Chulalongkorn University, only the event that being held in Bangkok University.

I will have my 5 days holiday from July 16th - 20th 2016 (Thailand Buddhist holiday). I think, I am going to go to Ubon province to accompany my host family to pray at the local temple and maybe we are going to visit wax festival as well there. I can't wait to have break time with my host family because they are all so nice to me.

I will try to update more about my life here on my blog and also I do vlogging everyday. I will upload it later on too. Once again, have a great holiday and good luck!
